Iimpact of plastic on the environment

250 million tons of plastic is produced every year. Half of 250 million tons is made for single use. After single use, plastic ends up in the environment as litter. On average, it takes 100 years for plastic to break down.

On average, 4,7 million plastics end up in the sea every year. This is dangerous for many birds and sea creatures. When they accidentally eat the plastic, they die. One million dead seabirds and 100.000 dead mammals die every year from eating plastic.

Also in the air during the production of plastic, harmful substances - also known as chemicals - end up in the air. One of these harmful substances is CO2. High CO2 emissions lead to global warming and is also bad for your health. When plastic is burned, the harmful substances are released into the atmosphere.

With our aluminum bottle for the cleaning products, we prevent plastic from ending up in the environment. YouSea is therefore a plastic-free store. On the aluminum bottle, there is a spray head.
